Our Team Participates In A Beach Clean Up With Other Hotels In Sanur

Sanur Village Festival (SVF) 2017 opened by Tourism Minister Arief Yahya, on Wednesday August 9, 2017. The festival which took place between 9 to 13 August 2017 was first held in 2006, and this year the theme is "The New Spirit of Heritage".

The Sanur Festival featured lots of activities, such as a beach clean-up, coral plantation, sea turtle hatchling release, Sanur International Kite Festival, Food Bazaar, Photography Contest & Exhibition and much more. The Beach Clean Up was held on August 5, 2017. Together with other hotels/resorts around Sanur Beach, the team from Swiss-Belresort Watu Jimbar joined the Beach Clean-Up activity that started from 07:00 to 9:00 AM. This was attended not only by staff of hotels/resorts in the Sanur but also the students from the local elementary school also joined in the fun.

The meeting and starting point was from Matahari Terbit Beach and ended on Segara Sea Side Bar. Cloudy weather and drizzle did not prevent them cleaning-up the beach until the finish line. At 8:40 AM all the participants arrived at The Segara Sea Side Bar, the committee of SVF collected and disposed of the garbage that was collected by everyone involved. Ibu Fika, the Human Resources Manager of Swiss-Belresort Watu Jimbar said "This activity not only keeps our beach and environment clean, but also helps us keep in touch with other properties (hotel/resort) in the Sanur Area."

On the same day The International Kite Festival (Free Flying), Workshop for the students, and Bali Kite Competition were also held at Mertasari Beach. The Sanur International Kite Festival 2017 includes participants from 26 countries. This annual festival not only attracts local and foreign tourists but also ensures the local culture continues to thrive.
